The Asian Cultural Center is a pre-schematic design located in Indian Trail, NC (unrealized). The goal of the project is to create a cultural and economic hub by promoting and celebrating the diverse cultures, traditions, and heritage of Asia. The main program of the project (~100,000sq.ft) includes a performance hall, a library, kindergartens and after-school curriculums, offices, retail spaces, as well as an Asian and farmer's market. The building concept draws inspiration from trees, creating an open ground on the site to promote fluidity and connection between all parts of the site and the surrounding community. The elevated massing is enclosed with algae lattice enclosures that not only sequester carbon dioxide generated by the site but also provide biophilia and good air quality for users.
